まずは、壇上伽藍まできました。中門には、正面に、持国天と多聞天の二天王。反対側には、増長天・広目天が安置されています。

多聞天は、北の方角を守護する仏様です。「毘沙門天（びしゃもんてん）」の別名のようです。

おっ、桜が咲いています。

金堂ですが、過去6回も焼けて仏様もかなり消失したようです。建物も鉄骨鉄筋コンクリートですが、外観は木造のよう。

根本大塔
空海入定を記念して再建したもので、これも鉄筋コンクリート造です。朱塗りがきれい。

西塔です。これは朱塗りされておらず歴史を感じます。

← この六角経蔵は、お経を収める蔵です。
経蔵の基壇のあたりに把手がついていて、なんと回転します。
六角経蔵をうまく回転させて一周できると「一切経」を読経した功徳が得られるそうです。
大塔の鐘・高野四郎
日本で4番目に大きな鐘らしいです。このことから、”高野四郎”と呼ばれているそうです。

↑何を覗いているかというと
ここは大会堂です。中には、本尊に阿弥陀如来を祀り、脇侍に観世音菩薩と勢至菩薩が祀られています。

○ ここから、奥の院に移動・・・・・・・・・・・・・
ここは「奥の院前」という入口です。他にも「一ノ橋口」と「奥の院口」があります。ここが最短で、「御廟(ごびょう)」までたどり着けます。

根元から３本に分かれているように見える３本杉です。

墓地エリアを通って北へ進むと、御廟橋（ごびょうのばし）という橋があります。
この橋を超えると聖地エリアに入ります。×写真撮影も禁止です。

水掛け地蔵にはたくさんの参拝者がきています。背負って頂いた穢れや苦しみを、水をかけて汗と一緒に流すそうです。

お化粧地蔵
化粧をしてあげると、何か良いことがある、と言い伝えがあるそうです。
